Purebred puppies are rarely available for adoption, because their owners have no problems with a cute, inquisitive and intelligent pet. Most problems start when the dog grows up without necessary socialization and obedience training. Such animals may become dominating, over protective, difficult to control or develop other behavior disorders. Such dogs pose a threat to the family and strangers and become a nightmare to the owner. In some cases, it’s possible to correct the dog’s personality by professional training, but dogs with biting records cannot be adopted.

The mission of each volunteer organization is to place homeless dogs into permanent homes, to educate the public about the breed, promote responsible pet care, and to provide ongoing training support for perspective adopters. There are also special foster home-based organizations. The temperament and behavior of each dog is carefully evaluated while they are in foster care so that foster owners can match each dog with a home best suited to meet their particular needs.
